My mental health professional career

started with being a therapeutic mentor, a paraprofessional, and later a clinician providing Children Behavioral Health Initiative services to families in poor neighborhoods of Boston. Now a supervisor, I've trained clinicians on cultural competency to see strengths in people despite their underprivileged circumstances.

ODNEY GELIN, MHC

I became a therapist because of my own generational trauma I wanted to break away from, my approach with therapy has been holistic due to always wanting to do the inner child work. In my work as a therapist, I have a unique  perspective in providing quality services that focus on building trust, respect, providing a nonjudgmental environment, and working with my patient to develop a treatment plan that addresses the underline cause of the diagnosis.

Ideally, my goal is to advocate and promote a world that grants full access to resources for all communities in need that focuses on fostering independence rather than creating dependency. Outside of work, I enjoy being around and making people laugh. I believe Laughter brings brighter days, even in the darkest moments in life. I enjoy photography, reading, and researching ways to improve lives in my free time. Some of my favorite activities include coaching and playing soccer, going to the gym, walking, and running.
