At Ubuntu Psychotherapy Group, medication management gives you regular time with a psychiatric provider to review how your medication is working and decide together whether your treatment plan still fits your needs. Whether you’re starting a new medication or seeking ongoing care for one you already take, we’ll listen to your concerns, explain your options, and help you understand what to expect.
What to expect at a follow-up visit
Your provider will ask what has changed since your last appointment, what feels better, and what still gets in the way of daily life. You may talk about mood, sleep, energy, appetite, focus, or how you’re managing at home, at work, or at school. You can also bring up side effects, difficulty remembering doses, or practical concerns like cost or trouble filling a prescription.
Based on how you’re doing, your provider may recommend continuing your medication, adjusting the dose, or discussing another option. If a change is recommended, we’ll explain why, what to watch for, and when to follow up. You’ll have time to ask questions and share what matters most to you before deciding on next steps.
Care that fits your broader treatment plan
Medication can be one part of your mental health care. With your permission, your psychiatric provider can coordinate with your therapist, primary care provider, or other members of your care team. If you’re transferring care, your provider will review your current prescriptions and treatment history before recommending a plan.
Preparing for your visit: Bring an updated list of your medications and supplements, including doses if you know them. It can also help to jot down any changes you’ve noticed, questions you want to ask, or refill needs.
Follow-up appointments are available in person or by telehealth, when appropriate. Contact our intake team to ask about availability, insurance, or how to get started.
